Konferences darba grupās apmeklētāji varēs iepazīties ar plašu laikmetīgu Korejas studiju tematisku klāstu, kurā ietilpst principā visas humanitāro un sociālo zinātņu disciplinas, kas tiek atspoguļotas šados tematikajos laukos: “literatūra un valodu”, “sabiedrība un politika”, “kultūras vēsture” un “reliģija un folkloristika”.

Korean Literature and Culture in Transition – Perceptions of the Past, Visions of the Future
The second international conference of Korean studies in Riga this year will host a notable count of participants and specialists of Korean studies as well as supporters from South Korea and several European countries. The event is organized by the University of Latvia’s Center of Korean studies, the Academy of Korean studies (Seoul), National Chonbuk University (Jeonju) and the Baltic Research Center for East Asian studies at the University of Latvia. Professors and specialists from two Korean universities as well as from European academic institutes of Korean studies in Turku, Stockholm, Budapest, Sofija, Kaunas and Vilnius will be present.
The participants of the panels will be offered an insight into the vast spectrum of contemporary Korean studies including basically all disciplines of the humanities and social sciences. These will be reflected in the following topical fields: „literature and language“, “society and politics”, “history of culture” and “religion and folklore”.
The organizers warmly welcome interested colleagues, students and other supporters to participate in the conference by opting for one or more of the panels close to their interests. The event takes place in the reading room of the Baltic Research Center for East Asian studies (AsiaRes), M floor, April 28th , 13.00 – 17.20 and 29th , 10.00 – 14.00.
